Question If I cut my Brassia spike back to the 1st node

...will it bloom again like a Phal does? If not, how far back do I cut the spike when it has finished flowering? Lisa

Brassia will probably not flower from an old cut spike. Sometimes if the spike breaks while it is developing it will produce a branch, but not if it has already bloomed. You'll just have to wait for next year.

Brassias don't rebloom of old spikes like Phals. It would be great if they did because I like big displays of Brassia flowers, but orchids have this way of teaching us patience. They make us wait, but the reward is almost always worth it.
