Dendrobium - HELP!!

HI!

I have this dend that I was given, and since it had new growth I decided to leave it be for now. I have since seen that it has two new keikis, but the top leaf on the old cane has turned really yellow. I have it in a west facing window where it gets direct sun from about 2 PM-sunset. Is this too much sun, or am I doing something else wrong?

Pic 1 is the plant on 6/2/2007, Pic 2 is the same plant today, Pic 3 is the new growth and Pic 4 is the two keikis

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Jason

I think your Den looks pretty good.
dont worry to much about the leaf going off.
seeing the young growth like that is awesome what your den is doing is pretty normal as the plant is concentrateing on producing new growth

As long as the new growths are healthy, don't worry too much about the old canes.

I agree with the others in that the new growth looks healthy. Dend. leaves
sometimes turn yellow and will fall off on their own. It's normal.
A west window is fine (they need lots of light) as long as it doesn't get to
bright and hot from the setting sun. I use a filtered curtain for mine and they
do just fine.

yeah, my big spatulata is dropping some leaves off its oldest canes; it's growing a big fat new cane though, and possibly another flower spike, so i'm not concerned. it may be a spring thing; i have other plants that have leaves going yellow, but they all also have new growth.
