I'm KILLING my cattelya!!!!!!!!

She's been on the balcony for about a week now, seemed to be doing good.

I come home today and THIS IS WHAT I SEE.

The stalks are yellow, the flowers are dry and I think I'm going to cry my little eyes out. This is one of my newest ones too.

What is wrong!!!???

(Sorry, I'm a little psycho right now).

Don't panic, I'm sure it's been in bloom for a while before you got it, it's just part of the cycle. Catt flowers only last a few weeks , I have a primary hybrid catt that was in bloom for only 3 1/2 weeks, not that long for something I waited a LONG time to see. Your plant is still fine ( so are you ) and will bloom for you again from a new growth...take a deep breath .

:deep breath:

Okay. I am a little relieved.
Should I cut the actual stalk that the flowers bud off of, or just the flowers?
Thanks

Don't fret Kel. I know exactly how you feel. Catts are one of my favorites and I almost had a breakdown last week over mine. There's a lot of great information on catts in this thread:

Cut the whole stalk off down to the leaves......don't cut the leaves or below them though.
