Identification.

I've got a plant that i thought was a den. of some sort, but i was then hinted on here by some people it could be a bamboo orchid

It has finally started to open some buds, so i have taken a photo and hopefully now it can be clarified

http://easyorchids.co.uk/shop/produc...cat=266&page=1

On that site it puts a plant that looks very very similiar to mine, and calls it a bamboo orchid, and puts it in with the dens.

Reminds me of cyms and coel's too, they all have a similiar flower structure, like a mouth of sharp teeth

some people call Dens a bamboo orchid because the canes look abit like bamboo.

I have never heard of Dens just being called bamboo orchid

its a common name.

turkeytaker is on a distinguished road
I agree with Fred; it looks like a kingi.

As for bamboo orchids, they're Arundina, I do believe, and a completely different animal than dends.

Since I'm having trouble uploading pics, here's the link to the set of pictures I took of some bamboo orchids in Hawaii on the side of the road.

It's definitely a Dendrobium. I agree with Fred, either a kingianum variety or cross.

Bamboo orchid is not another name for a Dendrobium. Bamboo orchids are Arundina. Arundina gramanifolia grows wild in Hawai'i where my mother-in-law lives. They're more closely related to a Sobralia.
