Is this normal occurance for a phal?

I just noticed on the flower spike on my phal tiny droplets. When I touched them, they feel very sticky. Is this OK? The orchid is in bloom right now. It has 10 flowers, it started growing a new leaf, and I believe a new tiny bud appeared on the bottom of the flower spike.

This is my first orchid ever, so I apologize if this is a silly question.

Thank you,
Anna

I think that's sap (or the floral equivalent), which a lot of orchids do produce, but I'm not sure if it's normal for phals. I know that the spikes on my cymbidium were kind of "sappy" and it did just fine.
I'm sure one of the more experienced members will know.
So then once your mind is eased, you can get a second, and a third, and so on!

It's not a silly question at all. On the contrary it's a fairly common one and yup, the little droplet is perfectly normal. It's sap. Sometimes a bit of sap will appear on certain types of orchids at joints as they grow and bloom.

Enjoy your plant as it grows and blooms!

A lot of orchids will secrete "happy sap" at joints when they're actively growing. It seems to happen most at the joints between flower buds and the stalk, and in warm weather. It's basically a sugar solution.

Yes, that's exactly where sap is showing up (between the flower stems and the spike). Thank you for all the replies. I love my orchid. It's getting a brand new leaf and another bud is growing at the tip of the flower spike.
