Question Orchid Photos section question

I have been trying to upload pics of my orchids to the photos section, but I keep getting an error message telling me if the problem persists to contact the web master. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I hit the browse button and locate the pic on my computer, fill in title and description then press upload only to get the error message each time. Lisa

The limit on size for the gallery is 700 pixels on the longest size. I prefer 600, it fits a computer screen better.

You will have to reduce the size for most cameras. Any editing software that allows you to resize by entering pixel size will keep the photo ratio if you enter 600 for both the height and width. The longer size will be 600 and the other less to maintain whatever ratio you had in the original.

It the editing software is in inches than use 6 inch's with a dpi of 76 not higher.

If size had no limit the photos would not fit on the screen and the computer server would be filled too quick. We have all had friends send baby pictures without reduction that could only get the infants eye on the page.

I'm having trouble uploading to the Orchid Picture Gallery, not attaching pics to my posts. When I try to upload to the pic gallery the error message says there was a problem creating a folder and suggests I contact the webmaster. Unfortunately, the webmaster link does not give me an email addy. Is there some special folder that I have to create? Or do I have to have a minimum number of posts before I can upload to the Gallery? TIA, Lisa

Thanks, Fred, that helps except for one thing. When I go to upload, the screen doesn't ask for my user name; herein lies the problem. Lisa

Lisa

the user name is entered near the bottom of the page. I missed it several times until I got to where I look for it. It is right below CHOSE A CATEGORY

You also have to select a location for the photo. It is called CHOSE A CATEGORY. Most people put them in the photo gallery but personally I would like this gallery to be reserved for pretty pictures. Then place diseases in the Orchid Diseases category and photos of leaves pseudo bulbs and other non-flowering items to be placed in the Member's section. You can post all of them to your threads regardless of where they are stored.

Unhappy There is no place for member name

I'm not nuts. When I press the upload link in the Orchid Photos section, I am given a place to fill in the link (s) to my picture, a space for a title, a space for a description, a drop down menu for catagory, a space for keywords, an option to receive email notification (additional features) and, at the bottom, two buttons, one to submit and one to reset form. No space for my member name. I am trying to upload from my computer, not an image server. Oh and at the top of the upload page is a statement that I have unlimited space. I really do know how to upload pics, but this page really doesn't like me. Thanks to all who have tried to help. Lisa
