Preventing Pest and other problems

Is there anything I should be applying to the plants on a regular basis to prevent bugs and/or other problems. Or is that something that you should do nothing about but keep a good eye out for problems?

You can spray your plants with insecticide and/or fungicide once or twice a month. Since spraying is more on a preventative basis, spray lightly.

Personally, I use one of Indoor Pharm Solutions' horticultural oil (for pests) and neem oil (for fungicide). I have worm tea, but haven't tried that for ridding off scales or mealies. Some members have used tea and vouched that it works.

I have gone exclusively to using Worm Tea for a preventative.

The solution has Keetainese (spelling is incorrect), which dissolves the keetain in the insects body (it is their bone structure) so they avoid the plants. Worm Tea is systemic so it builds a natural immunity for the plant. Insects like scale which can not move away are actually killed by the keetainese.

Best of all it is totally harmless to humans, pets, and plants. It is great on vegetables.
