Dendrobium with no roots

Hi all,

I have a dendrobium with no roots that was repotted 2 months ago...

I have lightly watered it with seaweed extract once a week and it is actually worse off now than before. All the leaves have died and there doesn't seem to be any new growth at all.... Help please!!!

One thing I learned is the orchids will to survive
Pot it up and water like normal and watch for a new growth to start. It will develop new roots from the new growth or it may throw a keiki and it will develop its roots depends on which type of Den you have. Do you have a pic you can up load to see what's going on ??

Dendrobiums are pretty tenacious, it might sacrifice leaves while it has no roots, but even if ends up being a bare cane, it can still make new growth from there. Don't give up on it!

I have to say I have a dendrobium in a similar state. Usually this time of year they are growing like crazy.
Turns out the mix I use had compacted and broken down, killing almost all the roots.
The canes still look robust, and it still has its leaves. I set up a fresh medium, and just lay it on top of the pot.
Fingers crossed

If, during the summer, it didn't get a new growth, I'd take it out of the pot and soak it for a few days, then lay it aside, unpotted. Give it a good soak every day or so until the new growth begins. Then pot it up and stake it very firmly. If you get a definite winter, it might help to keep it under lights until the growth finishes growing, then put it where it can be attuned to the seasons once more. I've gotten den. canes to put out new growth this way. Right now, you see, your dendrobium has no roots to absorb the good stuff you are giving it by the bottom but, along the cane, it has nodes. Good luck!

I have rescued many Dens from the brink of death. Care it and it will try to survive and reward u with roots and new growth. Sometimes even when u discard them in some corner in the garden and u check you will see roots growing trust me dnt give up on it.

You might back off the seaweed and only use it once a month.
