Angry Sap at the base of Cymbidium buds & flowers

Hello, Please could anyone of the experts tell me if the sap that I am talking about is normal. Every, bud and flower has this sap and at times it drips on the floor and is pretty sticky.

Secondly, the stalk has some of the outer leaves at every join turning brown when all the buds have not yet opened. Is this to worry about

Thanks

Firstly, this sounds like "happy sap" which is an indicator the plant is in good spirits with good culture.

Secondly, are you talking about the bracts along the inflorescence turning brown or where there are actual buds? If they're the bracts (little covers at each joint of the spike) then it is normal. Not sure otherwise, as my experience with Cyms is limited at this point.

I would look closely for aphids...especially underside of the leaves, and in the buds...
if no critters, then happy sap

Thanks for the assurance, that it is happy sap. Yes, I do mean the bracts, did not know the correct term! Will learn as I go along.
