Phal to be recovered!

Dear Geeks, Happy New Year to everyone!
The Phal attached was repotted one month ago in a 24h superthrive/kln soaked peatmoss, leca and bark.
The culture conditions are the same as for other healthy Phals around: 20-22C temp, humidity tray, medium shadow spot...
I'm not sure what are the spots on the leaves, anybody has any suggestion?
From the leaves appearance it looks dehydrated, any suggestion?

Thanks,

Alex

Please check the roots. I think it is rotten. If the roots are rotten, you can save the plant by cutting all the rotten roots and planting in a fresh medium.

Agreed. A root check is the first order of business, and, I would think a much smaller container as well. The plant looks like it needs high humidity more than water at this point.
Best,
Tony

From the looks of this plant I would dump it and start fresh with a new plant. I agree with the above that the plant probably has root problems. Another comment is the potting medium being soaked in fertilizer. It could have burned the roots. Personally, I do not fertilize my newly re-potted plants right away but wait until the plant has settled in.

I have a guy just like this!! I took it out of the pot and put it in a smaller pot with moss loosely siting under and around the little bit of roots it had. I would let it dry out completely between waterings. It has taken time but it is growing a nice set of roots and new leaves are growing nicely. I didn't use any root booster stuff, but I have heard alot of people say seaweed extract works really good. I had some people say they would just toss it, but me being a newbie to orchids, I kept it as a project to see if I could nurse it back. And I'm happy I did!

Congrats Musika, I liked your project. It is far better than throwing the plant. We get a mental satisfaction also that we did something to save the poor plant.

i have one whose leaves look the same as yours. i just now un potted it. the roots were rotten. i cut them all off and tried mounting it on some cork with some sphag moss. i don't have a lot of hope for it but thought i would give it a shot. hopefully yours will recover with some tlc. good luck
