When to repot epicatt?

I have a Epicattleya Rene Marques 'Tyler' that is putting out two stems of new growth. It also has a flower about to open. It needs to be repotted.

When is the best time to repot? Should I wait until the flower is finished? Or repot now since it has two new stems starting to form?

Thanks

Frank

If it is in need of a repot, I'd go ahead and repot. Soak for a few hours to make the roots flexible and then work very carefully so as not to damage the roots. Don't press down hard on the medium (crunching roots) for stability, rather, stake very well. If you are gentle and careful during repotting, then stake to prevent movement in the pot, most won't miss a beat. Leaving an orchid in broken down media, however, risks root loss which can lead to the demise of the blooms. Good luck!
