Extra late buds on phal

Is if normal for a phal to develop new buds on the same spike when it has already been in bloom for several months now? Just curious

i have bought a Phal one and half month ago , it started developping 8 new buds on its spike . i dont know if this is normal of Phals but i took it as a sign that my Phal loves the conditions and care i'm offering.

Continued blooming on the same spike will be a combination of genetics and the plant being "happy". Keep up the good work and enjoy! Mike

thanks for asking this question. I have the same thing happening on my Phal. Sogo Fireworks. Plus it's starting to throw out a new spike. YEAH!

This is their "correct way", giving us a bonus, a little surprise, if get what they need...But we are also lucky with the genetic beck ground which permits such a generosity.

thos tiny new buds on the Phal's spike are what made me feel confident that "i" can grow orchids and so went on and bought more!

a bud can make my day!
