Phalaenopsis Question

Just noticed this evening on 1 of my NOID phals that are still in wonderful bloom a little "something" happening on 1 of the nodes on the spike.

There is something coming out of that node - would it possibly be another branch coming out? Thank you

Judy,
A picture would help if that is possible.

Ok I put the camera on super macro but I don't have the steadiest of hands...plus had to try to take these on a horrible angle (upside down) lol

I'll post up 2 and in the 1 you will see the tight node on the stem like all the others. There is a little head popping out from the node.

You did GOOD!
There are a number of things that could come of this.......
1) Nothing - growth starts and then stalls
2) Subspike - more flowers coming - WooHoo!
3) Leaves/Keiki - WooHoo - Another orchid!
Time will tell.......keep us informed and we'll enjoy the "ride" with you..........

Could be a secondary spike? being new to phal orchids but I do have secondary spikes growing from nodes where I had cut the phal back and even from nodes when I haven't cut anything back. I look at them numerous times during the day to check for anything new growing. Must read up on keikis to see what they look like. Isn't it just wonderful watching them grow!

Cmk,
I agree it is wonderful watching orchids grow. I too check a couple of times a day to see what's happening. I haven't had any keikis on my phals. That would be so cool.
