| New Orchid ID help please
Hi Everyone, We have gotten a new orchid and I was wondering if you all could help me ID it. I do have the tag and it reads; Pot Franklin Smith 'Krull-Smith' AM/AOS x Pot Elaine Taylor 'Krull-Smith' FCC/AOS Now I have a degree in Botany but sometimes Orchid nomenclature stumps me, I'm pretty sure its a Cattleya hybrid but I could be totally wrong. Its not flowering and it needs some TLC so I was just hoping I could get some more insight into light and media. Thanks so much for your time -jczam |

Your plant's name is Rhyncattleanthe Krull's Mini Angel, registered in '09, although yours is the reverse cross. The International Orchid Register / RHS Gardening It would take typical Cattleya type care.

If you do a search here on the forum for "orchid nomenclature" you'll find an article on how orchid names work. Give it a read and let us know if you have any questions.
