Unfortunately once damage is done, there is no reversal. Even so... if the yellowing and wrinkling leaves are the bottom ones, that may just be normal aging process and those leaves will fall off soon. They get this orange peel rippling look as they yellow. I did have a problem with my top leaves yellowing on the edges before and that was when I moved my orchid into an area which got too much sunlight. The plant got too hot and the leaves started to get a border of yellow but I just moved the plant back to its old spot and it did fine, even though the yellow will never go away. Hope this helps. |

If it's not the bottom leaf that is wrinkling, it might be that your plant is dehydrated either from under-watering or lack of roots. When you repotted your orchid, did it have lots of healthy roots? Also, depending on who you ask, some orchid growers repot phals in bloom without experiencing resulting bloom/bud loss, but others prefer to wait until the plant is not in bloom. I think it's more important to repot when the plant is growing new roots as opposed to whether or not its in bloom.

the plant had some dead root and a small amount of root rot, both of witch i cut off with a sanitary scalpel, there are some nice looking roots at the top. he was in rotten sphagnum moss and transplanted incorrectly (by lowes ) the first thing usually do after buying plats anywhere is transplant them im a bargain hunter and i buy clearance plants, this guy was one of them Last edited by Kellylake01; 11-20-2011 at 05:47 PM. |

The orchids I fret about transplanting are the phal-type dendrobiums. Last week I did two, in flower, very, very carefully, and I am waiting for them to show their resentment. I've never had a problem with phals or any of the others. As long as you don't cause much harm to the living roots, most orchids are very forgiving. If your phal lost many roots because they had rotted, that might be the stress factor that is causing the trouble with the leaves. Good luck! Hope you soon see sign of recovery! Leafmite |

| There are no phalaenopsis (often called moth orchids) named Lion King. There's one named Doritaenopsis I-Hsin Lion King. Is that what you have?

well then Lowes really has some issues, because i bough him labeled as a phal. lion king, i will take a pick of him when he blooms (fingers crossed). if there is a way to identify him now i can take a pick of him when i get home.

It's not really Lowe's fault except that they buy plants from large mass producing nurseries that don't care about proper orchid names.
