I thinks there's something wrong with my orchid??

Hi
I've had this orchid for the last 3 months, and it looks like some parts on the stem are dry, but I am not sure if this is caused by not enough water or overwatering. Here are some pictures of my orchid. It sits in not directe sunlight and I water it once a week with 1/4 cup of water. Also it haven't blossomed for the last month. I have another orchid next to it that receives the same water/sunlight and is in perfect condition and still blossoming, but she has two stems instead of one (would that make a change in watering?). What can I do to bring back my orchid?
Thanks

Looks good to me too. It's probably just done it's bloom cycle. Just keep taking care of it and it will bloom again. Might be a few months to a year to send up a new spike and flower again.

Welcome to the forum, mlama088. There is a lot of information here, as well as friendly folks who will be glad to help you. Have you read any of the culture sheets for phalaenopsis? (That is the kind of orchid you have.) Here's a link:
Orchid Care for Phalenonopis & Paphiopedilum Orchids

Also, at the top of the list for the Orchid Care and Cultivation section, there are other threads that may be valuable for you, particularly the links to the AOS culture sheets and the one on "skewer use for watering".

As the others have said, your plant has finished its blooming and now it is ready to grow. Personally, I'd repot it in new medium, checking the roots and trimming any that have died back. I like to trim old spikes, too, unless I can see more blooms forming. That way the plant can devote its energy to new leaves and roots.

In the Orchid Potting Mediums section, there are pictures of the repotting process. Here's one thread:
Phalaenopsis Repotting *Pic Heavy*

Have fun!

I don't think 1/4 cup of water once a week is enough. If you're pouring it in from the top it's just running through, past the roots, and they aren't able to pull in what they need that fast. Keep an eye on it and if it begins to wrinkle or turn yellow, up the water intake. It does look pretty good now but it usually takes about a month for the symptoms to appear.

I agree with E-Jag.. My orchid seems to do well when I drench it and let plenty of water run through the roots.. Be sure ALL the water drains from the pot to prevent it from rotting. Humidity trays are a good idea as well. Good luck!
