| post flowering dend care My Dend Nobile recently finished a flowering cycle; this just as I became the new owner. I also salvaged an unknown dend from the back rack of a local nursery is similar condition. No reason to think nor anything is out of sorts with either of these plants, but they both have a "beat up" look to them. I know flowering can take a bit of a toll... here are my questions.
Is this or are they ready for a "rest period"? If so, how long does this last? More, less, or same watering schedule? Fertilizer... more, less, same? Leave them alone or repot? Maybe wait until new growth is observed before repotting? What determines when the plants are done resting? Possibly signs of new growth? Would this growth be roots or foliage? And what about temperature and sunlight requirements?
Hmmm, that last paragraph has about the same number of questions I get in any two minutes from my 4 year old grandaughter. What the heck... I probably have more, I just can't remember them!
Thanks ahead for any help with this.
Cheers, Jeff
ps: Saw some huge schomburkia's and many other orchids in Barbados last week. Last year I wouldn't have even look twice at them. |
