| Dear posha, Welcome to the forum. I think you'll find folks here helpful and quite willing to share what they have learned. Unfortunately, you still only have one orchid as Epiphyllum, commonly called orchid cactus (not cactus orchid) are actually not orchids at all. They are in the family of cacti that also includes plants commonly called Christmas and Easter cacti. I do not know where the common name "orchid cactus" came from. In my opinion they do not look like orchids. It's a project for someone interested in the origins of plants' common names. They are quite beautiful for sure, my Uncle grows quite a number of them. but alas, orchids they are not. What kind of orchid do you have? |

| Dear posha03, Nothing to worry. The great thing about orchids is that you can eventually become an expert (as I hope to be some day) and yet still have interesting and exciting things to learn and new plants to grow. I believe your Lc is Lc. Mary's Song. It's a great and fairly popular hybrid. If you have the means, post a pic of it when it flowers. Cheers |
