Question Paph ID if possible

Hi everyone

It's been ages since I've visited. Enough time for my NoID Paph to bloom! This was a gift and I'd like to try to identify it. Can anyone help?

It looks like one of the Maudie hybrids. The leaves I believe are mottled.

Since all Paphs are grown from seed there is tremendous differences in the flowers from the same parents.

Even the hybrids I sell do not look very different with different parents. Usually it is the shape of the pedals. whether they are expanded and how the flower holds itself.

Enter Paph on the search panel (the gallery search not the text search) and you will see what I mean. There are several photos that look almost the same as yours.

Yup it's definitely a Maudiae-type hybrid, what we call a vini-colour (wine coloured). Unfortunately there are many, many, many vini-coloured Maudiaes, lines of breeding for this type of Paph alone. I'm afraid vini-coloured Maudiae-type is about as close we're going to come to positively ID-ing this Paph. Fortunately these are really easy to grow and bloom and are quite rewarding orchids ot have and grow.
