What's my Odm. doing?

So, my Odontoglossum (which is my first orchid) lost its flowers in early November. By mid-December there was new growth, but now it looks like instead of growing a new spike, it's growing a WHOLE new plant!!!! Is this normal???

It's not ony normal, it's desirable. It will grow a new pseudobulb and leaves and when mature it will probably bloom too.
