Help with spider orchid

Bought a spider orchid last year. It look's healthy, leaf's are long and the plant has more of them then when I first bought it. But the root's on the surface seemed dried out. The root's in the container which is plastic are greenish. Has not flowered since last year, not even a single spike just lot's of more leaf's. And it seem's to need watering once a week! I check my plant's weekly and the potting media seem's to be bone dry everytime I water it. The container is small but when I lift it up to check it, it's alway's dry dry dry.

Spider orchid

Hi there,
Thank's for the tip! I actually got my orchid at a farmer's market here in Nor Cal and I may have paid a whopping 10 buck's! It's really neat looking (when it's in bloom)try and get one if you can.

I found that mine needed lots of water, twice a week in winter, three times a week outside in summer. Also, it bloomed better when pot bound.

Well, I will assume it is a Brassia. the are known to need strong light, or they won't bloom. Also, a plant with lots of healthy roots can suck a pot dry in no time, so water more often.
