Orchid care in New England

[font="Book Antiqua"][/
I recently visited the New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show in Bronx,NY. Well, it was love at first sight. (My husband brought me) We took many photos...and I have one orchid at home..to start.
My concern is..how do I care for this..my new baby? Temp.? water? sun? any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Also, please add the American flag to your main page...we are also members.
Thank you.
Nancy

All of the different types of orchids require different care. We need to know what type you have to be able to advise. Does your plant have a tag? If not, could you provide a photo?

The flags on the bottom of the page are to translate the forum into different languages.

Indoors year round in New England you are limited to Phalaenopsis and Paphiopedilum which will flower in low light.

Outdoors your cool summers and medium bright sun is excellent for Oncidium alliance and almost everything else.

When you tell us the type you have I can give more specific suggestion.

Thank you so very much for your reply. Already, I'm quite nervous this exquisite beauty won't survive, at my capabilities. Here is a photo for review.
Many Thanks,
Nancy
Unable to send photo..it is phalaenopsis...
I believe building a small greenhouse would be wonderful!
