Your paph looks to be a sequential bloomer. Once it starts you may have new flowers for many months.

that would be really cool then that means i have several months to try and identify its species hehe. im sure its a hybrid of some sort, but i bought it after it had flowered, i think for its first time, so to have 2 buds on its 2nd flowering year i think is quite good.

wonder if it will beat my other, larger paph for flower size not sure what species that one was either

it's probably just me, but the larger bud looks like a crab claw.

i sadly have idea on its parents, the pot it came in was labeled "phalaenopsis" so i really have no trust in asking the dealer!

I saw on an orchid forum somewhere (possibly even this one) people calling a nameless plant a "noid' (get it? "no ID"? ...groan).

Tom, since you have your camera and pic posting skills sharpened, maybe the flower can be identified when it blooms. I can say for certain that it has a healthy dose (perhaps as much as half) of a sequential bloomer and my guess as to the species, based on the colour of the bud, is Paph primulinum. I can't wait to see the flower!

Sequential bloomers are terrificly rewarding. It's great that you got it to bloom again so soon after buying it. I have no luck with slippers, so I'm envious.

Good growing...it'll probably seem like forever until it opens!

well its been 4 days since my last photo, but it seems to have made quite a change I am going away tomorrow for 2 days, so unless it is polite enough to wait i am sure it will flower then

thankyou for you help guys, any help in finding its name would be great, i will have to buy more nameless orchids, they are usually cheaper

but anyway, here is the newest picture, i "borrowed" my dads new camera, and after around 20 attempts, got this:

Its a nice day today, so i've put my orchids in the greenhouse, they get better sunlight, and humidity, shame its too cold most of the year.

i shall keep taking photos as it grows, its quite amazing how grows
is there anyway i can pollenate it? even self pollenation? i'd like to grow orchids from seeds, but i dont want to spend too much money only to make mistakes

my other paph should flower this summer hopefull two nice growths coming through, last years flower was quite nice, though my camera shot wasnt good.

if i post it could you possibly tell me what it could be? it was yellow, with red bits.

i could post one of my others
the paph picture i'm showing here wasnt grown by me, i simply bought it, so i dont feel its mine hehe.
when/if (fingers crossed) it flowers this year i will post it in the picture competition because with a better camera shot it would look quite nice.

btw, can anyone put a name to it? the picture is slightly blurry, but i think its quite distinctive.

i've got the next photo the inner petals seem to be forming and starting to immerge.

also, can anyone name my paph from the picture above, i've never seen one like it. I hoping to get it to flower in a few months and i can get some better images.

will it be that plain green colour, or will colour come as it flowers? this is my 1st paph to flower myself, though i think how it looks now is lovely, m new camera really shows it
