Question should this be treated??

Hello guys!

I have noticed these yellow spots on the leaves of my yellow phal, will these spots go away ?? or should I get rid of them myself??

Thanks!

This is a sign of disease that I would keep a VERY close eye on. NO, it will not go away on its own OR by anything you can do. Watch to make certain it doesn't spread to the crown of the plant. If at any time you see it growing toward the crown, cut the leaf into healthy tissue on the crown side. I had a plant with a big black spot on the leaf and it was fine for 4-5 months. Then all of a sudden (in 2-3 days) it progressed towards the crown and killed the whole plant. A fungicide might help to delay any activity. mike

It looks like mechanical damage to me, but to be on the safe side, you might try wiping with hydrogen peroxide and then coating with triple antibiotic cream (the kind from the drug store).

It could have started as mechanical damage, but it looks like fungus or some other microorganism to me. I would first spray with physan (or wipe with peroxide as suggested by Orchid126) and put the plant in a dry place with good ventilation. If that doesn't work and the stuff continues to spread, I would take a clean blade and remove the infected areas, then pack the cut edges with cinnamon powder or spray them with physan (or peroxide). I never tried putting neosporin on an orchid, but in theory it should work. I would just be a little hesitant to put something oily on the leaf.
