Dear Wednesday,

Welcome to the forum. I have a cuple of nobile or "soft cane" Dendrobiums as they are sometimes called. Can you tell me if the leaves are on new growths or old? And can you tell me a little about how you're caring for the plant?

Cheers

wednsday,

Are the black spots mushy or hard? If you can post a photo, it will give us a better idea. Also, please add your location on your profile. Doing so will help us give you the answers according to your orchid growing conditions.

thank you for the warm welcome! well, for starters, the leaves are falling off of the old stems. the ones the blooms are/were on. it is currantly under a grow light off to the side of a window next to 2 of my other orchids & a humidity tray. i haven't transplanted it yet cause i am too scared it will croke on me. the black spots are hard, not mushy. most of the leaves that had them have fallen off now. i have only had it a month. is it just shock? & as far as the cat goes, it was a pic i got in my e-mail & thought it was too funny not to share! i have no digital camera either.
