| newbies in the wash DC area---- next weekend (3/17) brookside gardens is holding its annual orchid festival. you may or may not want to bring your wallet, but there will be a half dozen or so growers there who *love* to talk about orchids, and are more than happy to answer questions. shows like this are a good way to actually see (and pick up and touch) what the books and posts on here are talking about concerning potting and media and what leaves should look like, etc etc. BG is in wheaton roughly at the intersection of randolph and georgia. http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/brookside/ http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/brookside/calendar.shtm |
