Can Someone Identify This Orchid?

I got this as a gift and think it's some sort of Phal, but don't know what type:

Please let me know.

Dear bozbox,

Given the thousands of Phal hybrids out there now, it is extremely difficult to identify untagged plants. Hopefully a Phal grower or breeder will see your post and recognize the cross. Good Luck.

As kmarch has said, nearly impossible for most phals. Your's looks semi-unique as to what I have viewed - so maybe (?) there is a wee bit more hope than normally? Your best bet is to go back to where you obtained it and see if you can trace back to the grower somehow.

bozbox,

With all the online shopping and visiting of nurseries, I've never come across that kind of Phal. It's beautiful...love the colors! I'm not much for yellow Phals. But that...I want!

At any rate, although there's no plant name tag on it, sometimes there's a tag/label with care instructions. On that tag, look for the grower info and contact them for more info on the plant.

I agree! What a beauty. Phals are so rewarding. I bought a huge one recently at the Fascination of Orchids show and LOOOOOVE it! I would love to know the name of this one.

Thanks everyone. I've looked through many photographs and from what I've seen so far, this one looks most like the one called Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure', except that the veins in the petals aren't as bright red. I don't know if there are any hybrids closely related to that one which would be more similar, though.

Another problem with attempting to identify a plant from a pic is that the plants may actually bloom differently depending upon their environmental conditions AND peoples pics/monitors all are slightly different.

well, Sogo Benz is yellow with a fuschia lip; Henry Rothman 'Cherry Canary' is yellow with a red lip; your stripes seem too faint for a BK, but there are some secondary hybrids of BK around now, and it may be one of those.

NOID's are annoying, aren't they? and at least in my collection, they're the ones that bloom the biggest and most reliably.

Thanks for these clue about the Sogo Benz. I found one called Phal. Ming-Hsin Joy 'Montclair' which is a cross between Phal. Chih Shang's Stripes and Phal. Sogo Lion. It seems to be the closest bet so far; the faint red stripes on this orchid have started becoming more prominent during the last few days, making the yellow stand out less.
