Re bloom on a Intergeneric Orchid

I purchased a Intergeneric Orchid in December 2010 and it is finished blooming. Do I cut it back right away? The stalks are brown and the foilage is green. Thank you!

The answer to your question is, maybe. It depends on what kind of orchid you have. There are many kinds of intergeneric orchids which require different kinds of care. If the inflorescence is now brown and dried up you can probably cut it off but we really know what kind of orchid you have to be sure.

Intergeneric is not actually a type of orchid. It means that it is a hybrid between two or more genera. There are about 900 orchid genera so you can imagine that it doesnt say much about your plant.

If you got the "intergeneric" title from Trader Joes (they often sell oncidium alliance orchids as intergeneric) then the answer would be yes, cut the stalks off. Post a photo if you can and it would take the guesswork out.
