what should be blooming

What should be blooming this time of year? I have a small collection and a little broad. 1 Otarra,Paph hybrid,Onc,Den(hard cane),Potinara and 4 various phals. I know the phals should be blooming. When should i expect to see spikes? I have lots of new leaves on everybody... but no spikes.

Sometimes you need to give them a temp. drop to initiate spikes.

Several things are blooming, in bloom, or in different stages of blooms.
I guess some orchids can be 'forced' into blooming, and then they will follow that pattern.
I bought a phal in bloom during summer, and every summer it blooms. it is a noid from Lowe's so its probually not a summer blooming species. This guy follows the pattern of spiking in spring and blooming in summer, while most others bloom in winter, spike in fall

The 'normal' for phals is now to late winter.
Dens, depends on type. Some rest during winter, and some bloom. I have a discolor type den just blooming for me rihgt now

Jay there is no normal blooming time for Phals. Your summer blooming Phal has summer blooming species in the background.

Imagineink with 50,000+ orchids you can arrange to have something blooming all the time. Pick your favorite genus and research the bloom times for a year round display.
