Cymbidium tags notation

G'Day All

I have noticed 2N & 4N on some of the cyms I just got. Anyone know the significance of it?

Cheers
Bernie

G'Day cym 1972

Thanks for that, as its about genetics I'll leave it at that, too complicated for my old brain.

Cheers

Hi Bernie.
One good thing about having a 4N plant is usually it flower texture is much thicker, flower quality is much more intense in colour and they seem to last much longer.
I suppose the only down point is sometimes they can be a bit slower grower but in all much better quality flowering Cymbid
Best of luck
Ron
