SLC flower stems turning yellow

Hi,
One of the new plants I purchased this past weekend at an orchid show, a SLC Little Fairy "Flower Bell", was in glorious bloom, the medium (bark) was quite wet when purchased. It felt quite dry today (yes, I am doing the skewers) and I noticed that the flowers seemed a bit "closed", and droopy so I h20'd today and now am noticing that the stems which the flowers are on have turned yellowish. I am thinking they may have been yellowish prior to watering today. Did I over H20 despite the fact they seemed a bit lack luster prior to h20ing? It's in a south window. This is one of the hybrids that being so crossed, I'm not sure on the care it needs.
Everyone's been great! And thanks for walking me through the first week of being a newbie!
Martha from -10 degrees MN.
ps my plants are NOT outdoors!

It was probably just time for the flowers to fade. If the anther cap gets knocked off, this will likely make the plant think it has been fertilized and it will fold.

Orchids at shows are overly stressed there is not much we can do with te ones we have for sale. I usually lose flowers on about 10% of everything I bring to a show.

Slc in general are a little tempermental, or maybe that is my poor results with them speaking.

Thanks Jerry and Cynthia. I'll see if I can reduce some of the newcomer's stress. All 15 of them.
