Repot or not?

I received a cym at Christmas time and I've been trying to read up on them but I'm a little unsure about its pot situation. The plant came in a 6 inch plastic nursery pot and it is absolutely crammed in that pot. I can't even get a finger in the pot to check for watering. It is top heavy and won't stay upright unless I prop things up around it. The cat knocked it over this morning and knocked it loose from the pot. There is barely any soil/bark in there, just a mass of roots. I read that they do not like to be repotted?? It is currently in bloom. Should I just leave it alone or repot? I hate for the thing to keep toppling over. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I would leave the plant alone until after it finishes blooming. If it's topheavy, you can set the plastic pot in a larger clay pot to stabilize it. When it's time to repot, put it in a slightly larger pot so that there's room for a couple of new pseudobulbs to grow. Don't overdo it. Smaller is better when it comes to pots for orchids.

Thanks! I did set it in a larger pot last night just to help keep it from toppling over. I'll repot it when its done blooming.
