identification - Phal. X?

This came from a local garden store and had no tag; I have found several similar (Phal. Brother Kaiser, Phal. Pumpkin Patch) but the pattern of red-on-yellow is still different. I wonder if it's possible to get a closer identification of this plant from the flowers? Thanks!

Beautiful flowers, but there are so many hybrids of phals available it is almost impossible now days to figure out what the cross is from a photo alone. Your best bet is to find out from the place you purchased the plant who the supplier is and then try to contact them - occasionally it will be someone in your area and they may even have a web site or email where you can contact them. There are a few very large/huge suppliers in the country who unfortunately do not label their plants with names as a further way to cut production costs of plants to the masses. Unfortunately they also don't have the time/resources to deal with queries. If you plan on potentially wanting to show a plant at an orchid show in the future your best bet is to not purchase a NOID (no tag - no identification) plant.

Phals have been crossed by so many people with similar results that even the grower probably would be guessing if you showed it to him. I have photos in the gallery with different names and exactly the same flower as well as different color flowers from the same seed pod.

Only clones can be identified. In Florida many growers are not bothering to even name there crosses.
