I've struck again!!!!!!

Okay, I took 'her' out of the glass bowl, put her in a pot that drains, and she seems a lot happier, esp since I wiped her leafs off. While I was buying the new pot I saw there were some new plants...I now have a Luck Bamboo (Dracaena) orchid with some really pretty flowers on it...any special things I should know about this one? They are both under the flourescent lights for about 8 hours a night, and then get some light during the day from the windows, I have some plant food for them, and mist every other day or so, plus the whole house humidifier is on, and I am going to get a grate to place over a container of water to keep the humidity up...and again, THANKS for the advice you gave me, is nice to know I have so many to help me out...or at least help 'her' out. lol! Have a good one, blacky...(luv that name!)

Are you saying that you are leaving the fluorescent lights on for 8 hours in addition to the "normal" daylight hours in your area? I could be wrong, and if I am please someone correct me, but I suspect that too many hours of light might not be healthy for the plant.

I keep mine under fluorescent lights in a grow box with humidity trays under them during the day until they start to bloom. I used to mist them with water every other day or so until I lost several to rot. Now I mist them about once or twice a month with a mixture of Physan 20 to help control the rotting problem. Once they start blooming I take them out of the grow box and put them in various places in the house where we all can enjoy them. So far it has worked very well for me.

Good luck with them!

Here's something confusing.Dracaena is not an orchid and, as I know, doesn't bloom.

If they get big enough they do, tho not very impressive on the solid color one with foot long leaves I had bloom. Also, it does not need that light, so when you get your next orchid, you can bump this guy into a brightly lit corner.
