Oncidium_should it be cleared and repot?

Hello Orchideeans,
I received an oncidium which my colleague did not want to have any more. I see a couple of the pseudobulbs healthy but also there are some dried one (?). I am new to Oncidium and hence wondering if it would need some clearing and repotting for growth afresh. I will post the pic in a day.

First of all

Pics would be great. Then we could give you the proper culture needed to make your plant and you happy. Here is the culture sheet on how to care for your oncidium.

Well, poor thing, it's been much abused. It has a lot of growing to do before it can bloom again.

If it were mine, I would definitely clean it up and repot into a much smaller pot, just to make it look better, and give it a chance to put out some new growth. It will probably respond to the fresh medium.

Be sure not to bury the pseudobulbs. They should ride just on top of the medium. Use a small pot and a fine medium.

Repotting done

I have successfully repotted the oncidium and I noticed a baby pseudobulb forming at the base of an old pseudobulb. I am waiting to see the oncidium blooms since this is my first one.
Thanks for all the suggestions...
