Can I use Phalynopsis Potting Mix for my Cymbidium?

I think you could. It will dry more quickly. Ones I've bought have been in a finer mixture. I did repot a couple into a bark mix. I even put one in the ground. It is the only one that has rebloomed. (and didn't freeze!!)
There are some Cym growers that should come along with better answers.
Welcome by the way, I'm just down the road in Brandon.

I agree with lmartiny. If you use a phal mix it will most likely dry out faster meaning you'll have to water more often. This is probably going to sound terrible to some but my Cymbidium mix consists of whatever paph mix I have left over with a bunch of medium bark added. It's quite moisture retentive and seems to work for me. So what it's got in it is small and medium bark, medium perilite, medium charcoal, some coir chips, and some coir peat. I think having the peat is especially helpful in helping keep the mix moist.

lmartiny, thanks. Could I mix in a bunch of Sphagnum Moss for better moisture retention? Mine has just quit blooming and appears to be getting ready to bust out of the pot. Roots have pushed up about an inch above the pot.
