bulbs on top of bulbs?

A question on one of my new orchids i got today.
It looks like there are growing bulbs on top of the pseudobulbs.
Is this normal?

this is an extension of the large psuedobulb beneath it....it forms from the base of the leaf above it....perfectly normal for a well grown plant....

My oncidiums do that a lot; yeah it may look weird but it's all normal.
