Talking droplets at base of flowers

Are little droplets at the base of each bud on my cymbidium normal?
I have had the plans outside but have recently brought them into the house because they are about to bloom- we have been running the heater at night so maybe its too hot for them? But each flower has a slightly sticky water droplet at its base. If this is not normal what should I do?

Well I do not know much about cyms but do you have pic of this? Are there any brown spots around where the drops are that might indicate an infection of some sort? I am sure others who grow cyms will jump in here.. T

Clear droplets on orchids are usually sweet and very common, and often called happy sap. However, sometimes this is an indication of insects. Examine the blooms closely, and if you don't see any insects, then pat yourself on the back because your plants are happy.

Choodles, that's very interesting. I have an Alocasia amazonica that drips like crazy from the very tip of each leaf for about the first 24 hours after each watering and the link pretty much explains it. Thanks!

Newbee, thanks for asking this. I've got the same thing on a B. Nodosa, and I've been meaning to ask. It seems happy, bloomed nicely, and I don't see any signs of bugs, but I was wondering what the heck was going on!

Yay, happy sap!

Thanks, I have just asked the same question and was directed to yours with all the reponses. It seems my orchid has happy sap too! Will double check for insects to make sure!
