I recently asked if I possibly had a problem with my cattleya as the sheaths were turning brown. Guess what I now have Three Beautiful Blooms I have taken pictures and will post them when I can find time to learn how.

Thanks for all the help.

It is very common for Cattleya sheaths to turn brown and brittle before the flower emerges. It makes it easier for the flower to break through.

I have had brown sheaths that have had flowers emerged up to a year after developing the sheath.

But sometimes a brown sheath is just dead unfortunately.
