Cool ceciliaL

hello everyone!!

I have two catleya's each has two sheath buds. I can see a dark spot at the base of each that I am hoping is a bud. problem is one of the sheath started
getting brown spots and now has completely turn brown. Is there something wrong and if so what can I do. The others are still green.

Thank, ceciliaL
