how rare ARE they?

I found a couple of orchids at Home Depot yesterday that are scented. And I have a dendrobium that smelled wonderful when the blooms were new(it's lost the scent as they've aged) but I know that they aren't usually scented. I was just wondering how rare exactly it is. Thanks!

Are you asking how rare scented dendrobiums are?

Depends on what kind of dendrobium it is Can you post a picture & do they have tags in the pots with a name on them? Usually big box stores don't sell rare orchids, there are many scented orchids and dendrobiums. Occasionally you might find some good hybrids at big box stores for a decent price but in my experience most big box stores sell a mish mash of unregistered hybrids or untagged orchids. If you could post a picture of it that would help us identify what type of dendrobium it is

None of mine have had tags, other than one of my dendrobiums(the one that didn't have any flowers) but after a big google search, I couldn't find anything under that name. I didn't think the box stores would sell anything too rare, but everything I've read on orchids seems to say that it is rare to find a scented one.

There's the dendro. It's got the typical canes of one, and those are the flowers, or at least the best shot I can get of them(you will NEVER hear me say I'm a good photographer XD)

This one is one of the scented ones I found yesterday. No clue on what sort it is. No tags of any sort. The other one there looked like that, only with wider flowers and it was white with burgundy spots.

Your second one is a variation on Mtssa. Shelob. The size and color is right but it does not have clear markings in the petals and septals we would expect from this plant. It may be culls sold to the box store or a slightly different hybrid.

that looks like one I bought at HD. I'm not at home or I'd check the picture and tag. I think it is a Miltoniosis. Another close one is Miltonopsis. My spelling might be off as well. It was a different one for me, but I mainly bought it because it had two blooming spikes and four more coming up. Now five since it has been home. Someone will know and post. Or I can check when I get home Sunday.

It's Miltassia....a cross of Miltonia and Brassia.
