Help! yellow stem

What am I doing wrong? I have had my Phal since February. This week the main stem supporting the flowers has turned yellow at the top. The bottom part of the stem is green. What can I do?

thats a nice long time to hold a bloom....are the flowers gone now? you can cut that stem down to the last node now, and let the plant grow and store energy till the next blooming season comes around in the fall....

either too much fertilizer or too much fungicides. Or you could have a borer problem. Either way it is not good news. Hope the plant recover

Sounds like it's just the natural process of fading blooms and stalk. Nothing to worry about but a picture would help.

Looks like it is just time for the blooms to fade and be finished until next bloom cycle. You can cut it as duonoharm suggested above.
