What type of Orchid is this ?

I bought this orchid about a mnth ago. It looked larger than normal but now I am amazed at the size of the flowers and the spike. Here are some links to the monster orchid !

Does anyone have a clue on what the parantage could be. From the bottom of the pot to the top of the spike, the plant is about 4.5 feet tall.

Large Oncidium

Here is a close up of the flower it produces ..

Flower Upclose

Thanks for your help.

Hi Tom - I believe this is Bllra. Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' AM/AOS. You can google this name or try this link http://www.odoms.com/images/inventory/5O11.jpg. For some reason many of the photos of this flower look much more red, but I have seen in person and it looks more like the link I gave you and the color of yours. The spotting does look slightly different however so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree? We'll see what others think. mike
