| my boyfriend bought me an orchid for our anniversary and it's got two stems... one of the stems broke (where the flowers are) is there any way of saving it? I know that the flowers will die but will it rebloom on that side? Also, i have orchid food and it says to give that once or twice a month and it says use water with it but do you water it any other time? thanks sarah |

| Sarah, we need to know what type of orchid it is. Take a look at this site, and see if you can identify your orchid. Orchid Photo Identification Guide Also, we need to know if you have just broken the flower spike, or a more permanent part of the plant. If a spike, it will not affect future blooming. Watering of orchids should be done just before they go completely dry inside the pot, or just after, depending on type. You may want to read this info on testing the pot for moisture.
