Yucky looking aerial roots

The humidity here in FL has been low, and there hasn't been any rain in forever. This particular phal. of mine has the worst looking dry aerial roots, ever. Even the green aerial roots are split or breaking. Along with the older blooms falling off, I have new buds coming out and a new leaf popping up.

Can I make the assumption this plant is healthy.......just has a case of uglyrootitis?

The roots inside of the clear plastic that are visible are all green . I have one that's turning yellow, but the rest look good.

To many of us, Crazy roots are a beautiful thing! I believe it's healthy, it just has a case of wandering roots!

Hi.
1; My person opinion is that plant is getting de-hydrated because of the low humidity and majority of the plants roots are not in potting mix.

2; They love to be repotted at least every 2 years or so in an open fresh potting mix.

3; If it was my plant I would remove it from the pot, clean off all the old roots and repot it in slightly bigger pot.

4; That is you are now entering spring/summer growing season or the plant is kept in a warm growing are.
5; From my own experience I find Phallies love a few home comforts, 1; being kept warm all year around, 2; plenty of water in warm weather, 3; open, well drained potting mix. 4 Plenty of fresh air.
Now that is a simple life for such lovely orchid which rewards us with such beautiful flowers.
Best of the growing luck to you
Ron

I'm not surprised about since this one has so many roots all over the place. The dead, dried roots which surround the outer perimeter of the pot was pretty much a giveaway that it needs to be repotted.

The main thing was being sure it is healthy.

Thank you guys for confirming this.
