| There is a masde culture note sticky on this site, but off the top of my head... low light (like for Phals),cool temps (mountain growers),good air circulation, keep moist but not wet. ![]() |

| The species that makes Maui Jewel fragrant is Masd glandulosa. It's also a cute small species with purple warty bumps inside the flower. Neat little species.

| Masdevallias are to me the most amazing genus. I really love them, just a shame it gets so hot here in summer. I have to move them around in the heat so they don't get too warm (like today). Some of the flowers in this thread are truly stunning. |

| Oh, I had one of those that I bought at a home and garden show years ago. The I put it in the bathroom and it grew and grew. I think it was in a 6"or 8" pot. Then I decided to put it outside in the sun cause it wasn't blooming. Sure enough, it died. My question is are Masdevallias easy to grow and will it survive in a GH. I read or heard somewhere they come in cool or warm grower |
