Phal spike, how long to flower?

My monsterous Phal. Snow Apple recently started a new spike. It is almost an inch long. How long until flowers? I realize there are probably differences from plant to plant, but is there an average?

My two Phals are in bloom now. They started at the beginning of July and the first flower opened at the beginning of September, so the evolution of spikes lasted about 2 months.
Aniko.

Thanks! It's exciting to know I'll probably have flowers in a couple months...and it's going to be a surprise, too! I bought this one post-flowering, so I don't know what they look like. Pink, I think.

The name suggests something snowy ...maybe with a touch of pink.
I'm also waiting for a "first bloom". It's exciting indeed !

It does depend somewhat on environmental factors, type of phal, and how "happy" the plant is - I've had them take three months in my office environment. I had another phal in the same environment that got stressed and it finished off a double spike in much less time that it should have been - the plant responded by sending up a third in no time at all - I didn't actually time that one, but I think it was two months or less. They can be slow though - kind of like watching moss grow. :-)

How long to flowering?

From all the pics on here, I think I have a new flower spike. However, it has been sitting there for nearly three months, with hardly any growth, and is about two inches long. Will it continue, or did I stress it and it will just sit there?

I have been told 120 days give or take from spike to first bloom. A root looks like a little rounded nub, where as as a spike looks like a mitten.

I have found the majority of all orchids take their sweet ole time and bloom when they feel like it. A watched pot never boils

Hi, if you can provide a nice warm environment and good humidity like were they all originated from.
A temperature of around 80F day and night, should be able to get it into flower after about 2 months, sometime quicker.
If colder then 80F each day, it could drag on for 3 to 4 monhts, again all depends on the maturity of the plant, and growing envoiroment.
