| i downloaded the digital version from Amazon and it was my first Orchid Book. It's a good book but seems to skimp on the more in depth knowledge. I like Orthos' All About Growing Orchids by Carter and Holmesbut my favorite is Understanding Orchids: An Uncomplicated Guide to Growing the World's Most Exotic Plants by William Cullina which has some good information in it from a growers personal experience. It also has some great pictures from some unusual species.

| I have an excellent paperback called "The Orchid Specialist" and in a concise way covers most aspects of orchid growing, care, and even shows you how to make an orchid corsage. There are sections showing which type of orchid you should grow in certain environments, glass houses and how to design and set them up, care of orchids, pest and diseases, and a listing of various types of orchids etc etc.. The ISBN No. is 1 84330 788 X, Publisher: New Holland Publishers, Author: David Squire and was first published in 2005, so it is a recent publication and relatively inexpensive.
