| Wilsonara I have a new orchid (yes another one) which is a Wilsonara Aloha Sparks. What is the correct care for this? I believe it falls into the Oncidium range of care but wanted to confirm. Somebody told me it like to stay wetter than most orchids. Is this true or just a bad bad rumour? I love the follioge and hopefully it'll bloom for me someday. The pictures i have seen show it be spectacular when it finally blooms. It apparently already had a spoke earlier this year so it's mature enough to bear flowers. THanks in advance!

| Wilsonara is an intergenetic hybrid in the oncidium alliance. In general i find them a little easier to grow than regular oncidiums and ocidiums are not especially hard to grow anyway. I do not know your exact cross, but most have smaller flowers than regular oncidiums but many more. Wilsonara Golden Afternoon, which I have has 3 foot flower spikes and 60 or more flowers per spike. This photo looks just like normal oncidium but the flowers in the photo are only about 1 1/2 inches each making up for that with 60 or more flowers.
