Should I repot?

Hello all! I got these orchids about 6 years ago and they are doing great!! They bloom every year and they are pretty healthy. New shoots are growing now and I was wondering if :

1. Should I repot them since I have lots of healthy roots

2. And if I should repot, should I do it after blooming or now??

Thanks in advance!

If the plants have been in the same medium for 6 years, I would repot now.If it has not been that long, it is not so urgent. Phals can tolerate repotting while in spike without any problem if you are gentle.

Do you plan to change medium? Be aware that if you switch to bark instead of sphagnum moss ( it looks like that is what you have) you will need to change your watering frequency to keep those roots nicely moist. It looks like you have been doing well with the moss, though.

That moss looks really old but they look ok.

I would repot them if like Fishmom says they have been in the mix for 6 years. Sphagnum moss should be replaced most years but sometimes I have let it go for 2 years maximum. I would stick with using moss, looks like it is working.
